hope. strength. peace.

Where do we find our hope, our strength, our peace?

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
-Ephesians 6:10 ESV

We’re all going through stuff. Big stuff and little stuff. I want to remind you that you serve a mighty God to whom all the big stuff is super tiny.

So often we try to seek to heal in the world, and then we realize that turning to the world only makes things worse. How many times have we “stress-eaten”? How many times have we scoffed a whole bar of chocolate in 5 minutes as soon as we went through something horrible? How many times have we watched a sad Netflix movie instead of getting on our knees to pray? (I am SO guilty of the chocolate one!) That’s not how it’s supposed to be, though.

Our God is right there. He will never leave us nor forsake us, and He is the one to whom we should turn. It’s not easy running straight to God (even though it should be) because it seems like the world is much more within our reach. He’s not far. I promise you, when you start to lean on Him, you will be healed because He is the one who heals. Chocolate and Netflix don’t heal, our Lord heals. Our Lord restores our hope when we are hopeless.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.
-Jeremiah 29:11

I want to encourage you all to look to God whenever you’re going through stuff. He wants you to tell Him about that stuff (even though He already knows), and He wants to help you get through that stuff. So just remember that you always have someone to turn to.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4:7

Our hope, our strength, our peace is in Jesus Christ.

God truly loves you.

With love,
Mandile
